The ship museum is a tourist attraction located in Surabaya, specifically at Jl. Pemuda No.39, Embong Kaliasin, Genteng District, Surabaya City, East Java 60271 The vessel at this location is a submarine named KRI Pasopati 410, one of the naval assets of the Indonesian Navy that played a role in the Battle of the Aru Sea to liberate West Irian from the Dutch.

The Submarine Museum

The Submarine Museum in Surabaya showcases the submarine KRI Pasopati 410. This submarine is the first submarine owned by the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) and was also part of the fleet that played a role in the Battle of the Aru Sea to free West Irian (West Papua) from the Netherlands.

The Creator

This submarine was built in the Soviet Union in 1952 and operated by the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) from 1962 to 1990. The submarine has a length of 76.6 meters, a width of 6.3 meters, a height of 15.3 meters, and a weight of 1,300 tons. It can accommodate up to 77 crew members and is capable of diving to a depth of 250 meters with a maximum speed of 21 knots.

The Submarine Museum in Surabaya was opened to the public in 1998 with the aim of preserving history and introducing the lives of submarine crew members to the public.

Visitors can enter the submarine and explore various rooms and facilities inside it, such as the engine room, torpedo room, navigation room, command room, sleeping quarters, kitchen, and bathroom.
